How To Grow A Bonsai Tree

Now, that’s something I really appreciate cause we need to start somewhere But I have a better plan which will be less expensive and much more interesting and that is, grow a bonsai for yourself. A lot of people get scared when they learn about bonsai trees and its art which is being practiced for centuries. Please don’t. You exactly have what it needs to grow a bonsai tree for yourself. With a bit of guidance, you will be ready to roll to grow your first bonsai tree!

What you need to do first is, choose the right species according to your environment.Once you have done that,please follow the steps discussed below:

1.How can You Get A Bonsai:

So, you have chosen the right type of bonsai for you. Now, how you will get one? That’s easy. There are a lot of online shops who has a good variety of quality bonsai trees. You can also buy a prebonsai tree which basically is a rough material you can grow shape as you like. A less expensive way which is pretty slow compared to other options is, you can cultivate a bonsai tree for yourself with cuttings or seeds. But a word of advice, you should those along with buying a prebonsai tree for your training, basically treat is a side project.

  1. Techniques for styling:

At this stage, you should have a bonsai plant somehow. Now, Let’s get started with your training to learn further on how to style and shape the tree properly. Your first lesson will be to know about pruning and get an insight about it. Pruning is used to keep the bonsai trees miniaturized. You need to master this technique to properly shape your tree. You will also need to concave cutter for pruning. Because the wounds that these cutters leave on the tree heals way better than normal cutters. You should remove the branches that show the following symptoms:

a). When you see two branches seems to be on the same height, be sure to keep one of them and cut off the other one.

b). You should remove branches that have unnatural turns or twists

another technique you should know about is, wiring. It involves wrapping the annealed copper also known as anodized aluminium around the branches. It’s possible to bend them to some extent to maintain a good shape.

3.Maintenance and Care:

You should know the fact the putting an indoor bonsai plant outside or the vice versa simply means to kill it. So, you need to predetermine a location for your bonsai where you want to keep it. Trees that are sub-tropical usually needs more light and high temperatures. They can only live outside if the climate is suitable enough. But they perform well in the indoors too.
